Research the migration of South Sudanese to different locations in the United States. Create a diaspora (a visual map) showing showing the paths from South Sudan to New York City and from there to other locations in the U.S.
Research the Dinka and Nuer tribes. Create an info-graphic to compare their similarities and differences and their long-standing conflict.

Research a waterborne illness and create an info-graphic that shows and discusses what the bacterium or organism looks like, how it infects people, the disease's symptoms, how it is treated, what happens if it is not treated, and how the illness can be prevented.
Create an annotated timeline of the major events of Salva's journey. Include important events, such as his uncle's death, his survival at the river, his meeting with his new family, etc.
Research how South Sudan is currently doing. Create a brochure or newsletter that reflects changes, ongoing problems, conflicts, etc.

- Use EasyBib to quickly and easily create bibliography entries that you can cut and paste into your project.
- Use the Google Research tool when collecting information and pictures - it will automatically create entries and footnotes for you. Then, you can copy and paste them into whatever you are creating.
Each project will include different elements, but all should be colorful, informative, and clearly connected to the problems in our novel. Consider the following elements for your project:

Apps to use:
- Install the Google App "Piktochart" to create colorful info-graphics using built-in templates.
- Canva can be used to create infographs, posters, brochures, etc. It has a variety of free templates to help you get started.
- Install the Mind Map app for Google - this would work really well for annotated timelines and diasporas
- Prezi presentation software offers panning, zooming, and other techniques for creating a more professional presentation.
- Emaze is another presentation software that helps build "emazing" presentations.
- Install either Animoto and weVideo apps for Google to create powerful videos using photos
- Tagul is the software we have previously used to create a Word Cloud.
- Google Docs/Slides/Draw You MUST get permission from me to use Google Slides. I will only allow its use if there is no other alternative that makes sense for your project.
- Good old chart paper, markers, colored pencils, etc.
